
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Professor Stuart Wall is a globally recognised authority in a range of economics, business and management subjects, including international business, strategic analysis, microeconomics, environmental economics, quantitative methods and economic policy, with numerous texts in many languages for Pearson, the world’s largest educational publisher. Stuart has been personally cited by the Independent Newspaper in the ‘A to Z of Business Schools’ as having made an outstanding contribution to UK business education. He is the author of major texts in business and economics published in many languages and of a wide range of on-line, audio and video materials for Financial Times/Pearson/ Edexcel and other publishing houses. Stuart has five textbooks translated and published in Chinese and his Applied Economics text was identified by Tsinghua University Press as one of the six most important international texts in economics for a special series. He has extensive consultancy experience for major organisations, such as the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Industry, Pearson Education, British Telecom and Kaplan, amongst others. In addition he has developed major research projects for various UK universities in entrepreneurship and corporate strategy, including projects funded by bodies such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), working closely with Professor Dr Dieter Lange in a range of high level research and practitioner projects.
RELEVANT EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Stuart has acted as external examiner for numerous universities, including Cambridge University, Surrey University, the University of the West of England, and the Universities of Bournemouth, Roehampton, West London and Harper Adams for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes. In addition to a wide range of texts, he is the author of articles on various aspects of business strategy and economic policy. He is the author of a wide range of ‘Educational Specials’ for parents and students involving all aspects of the National Curriculum for major UK newspapers such as The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Mail on Sunday, and many others. Stuart was awarded a Professorship in Business and Economics Education, Anglia Ruskin University and is currently Visiting Professor in Business and Economics Education for both Birmingham City University and Leeds Beckett University.
In his capacity as Founder and Principal of CIEC he is leading on a wide range of major international projects involving curricula development in Business and Management at all levels, training and assessment of teachers and students in both Business and English (CIEC was designated the official Pearson Test of English Centre in Cambridge), high level executive training in the UK and abroad, amongst many others.
Professor Wall was engaged by Birmingham City University and Pearson Education to devise, develop and write all the teaching and learning materials for 14 separate online modules covering 3 separate MBAs, namely General Business, Health & Social Care and Environmental Management.
In recent years Professor Wall has focused on developing teaching and learning materials for the various programmes of CIEC rather than adding further to his extensive publications of texts and articles.
